While she might not be as popular as some of her family members in the entertainment industry, she has carved her own identity as a charity worker and research scholar. The youngster holds two master's degrees from two different universities and is currently pursuing her PhD at ‘Rutgers University SPAA’. Earlier, Karima served as a family service specialist in the State of New Jersey for several years. She combined all her skills and volunteering experience to found her own philanthropic centre, 'Organize Change, Inc.' However, everything has not always been hunky-dory in the research scholar’s life. In 2016, she made headlines when one of her charity campaigns caused a physical brawl between her boyfriend and a cemetery official. The two were in the news in 2016 after Horatio had a physical altercation with Newark Cemetery's board member Warren Vincentz. At that time, Karima was working on the 'Clean up Woodland Cemetery' campaign in Newark, for which she faced a lot of opposition from the cemetery board. The board authority declined to financially back Karima's campaign proposal. She, however, was determined to clean up the cemetery so that it could be used for other purposes. It resulted in a feud between Karima and Warren Vincentz, whom she accused of misbehaving with her.
