According to some news reports, Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich tried to fix their marriage by taking some time apart! However, as you already know, that did not work and in fact, had the ‘opposite effect!’

One insider shared with HollywoodLife that while they were away from each other, the two realized that they were ‘better off going their separate ways.’

As you know, the former pair made their separation official with a statement they released on May 29.

This announcement took a lot of people by surprise but as it sounds, they had marital problems for a while before the separation and tried to fix everything by first going on a break.

The source shared via the news outlet that ‘Julianne and Brooks still have so much love for one another, they did everything that they could to save their marriage. They even hoped that taking some time apart might bring them back together but ultimately it just had the opposite effect and made them realize they’re better off going their separate ways.’

However, in spite of their marriage coming to an end, the insider insisted that they are still on very good terms.

‘They will always love and support each other and share a strong bond. Their marriage is over but friendship and love will remain. There’s no anger or bitterness, they’re sad that things did not work out the way that they had hoped when they walked down the aisle but they at peace with the decision. It is the best thing for both of them,’ the source explained.

Brooks and Julianne tied the knot back in 2017 and the rumors that their marriage was struggling first started going around when the two chose to quarantine separately!
