Frances Pulley
In 2019, Frances Pulley, John’s mother, died after suffering from cancer at age 58.
Pulley raised John and his siblings as a single mum. She had worked several jobs just to make ends meet.
John Carroll Wall Sr.
John’s father, Carroll, had been a convict over second-degree murder and armed robbery charges.
He died of liver cancer in 1999, one month after he was released from prison.
John Wall Career
John had his high school education at Garner Magnet High School in Garner, North Carolina.
He proceeded to the University of Kentucky, Duke University, Georgia Tech, where he played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats.
John had played for Garner Road and then D-One Sports.
He was drafted by the Washington Wizards as a point guard with the first overall pick of the 2010 NBA draft.
John won the NBA championship five times and in December 2020, he was traded to the Houston Rockets.
