Joan Smalls is sizzling in Spain, showing off her model body in a swimsuit. In her latest social media snap, the catwalk crawler parties in Ibiza with her pals, looking like she is having the time of her life. "OutSide Ibiza," she captioned the series of fun photos. "Cardio is important," Joan once told  E! Online. "I've been doing 45 minutes [a day]—it's mostly resistance training with my own body. I'll do planks, I'll do different types of sit-ups, anything that's for my core because I have scoliosis," she added to The Daily. "I do a lot of glute work: kickbacks, squats, fire hydrants. Cardio, I'll do maybe three times a week. When I was in Puerto Rico, I'd run outside because it gave me a nice view to be outdoors and running in between palm trees. I haven't done Muay Thai in over a year now, and I'm starting to miss it. I believe a girl should always be able to throw a good punch. It's a good self-defense."

Joan maintains a mostly plant-based diet "Eat veggies, lots and lots of veggies," she told E! Online. "A good tip is to substitute some of the larger portions of what you love, and that's not always best for you, with more veggies." However, when she needs "instant energy" she revealed to Harper's Bazaar that she grabs a sweet treat. "Chocolate. From a Snickers to Twix to Oreo cookies to fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, brownies—anything! I do not discriminate," she said.

"I don't believe in dieting because I'm Puerto Rican, and it's really hard to not eat what you love," she told E! Online. "It's in my blood to eat rice and beans, so I've learned to manage portions because you get to eat a little bit of what you absolutely love and crave." She does have to sweat more to eat more, however. "I just workout a lot to compensate!" she told Vogue France, adding that on average she works out five times a week for one hour. 

Joan starts her day with a particular hot beverage. "I start my day with a glass of warm water and lemon because it's so good for your digestion, your skin, and even for your metabolism," she told Vogue France.

While Joan's diet is healthy, she gets extra nutrients by taking supplements. In her rotation? "Zinc, probiotics, vitamin D, a complex of vitamin Bs, a  powder called MSM [methylsulfonylmethane], and vitamin C."
