Jermaine Dupri is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, record executive, entrepreneur, and DJ. He is a father of two daughters Shaniah Mauldin and Jalynn

Jermaine Dupri has a daughter, Shaniah Mauldin, with Pam Sweat, whom he dated when he was 25, and with whom he became pregnant just weeks after they met.

He had his other daughter Jalynn with Sarai Jone. According to the Fulton County Superior Court, Dupri was ordered to pay $2,500 per month and an additional $7,500 to Jones based on the results of a paternity test in 2011.

In 1993, Dupri founded his own record label, So So Def. Dupri discovered and signed the female R&B group Xscape not long after launching So So Def. He oversaw the production of their platinum-selling debut album “Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha.”

He signed Da Brat to his label the same year and released her debut album, “Funkafied.” She became the first female rapper to sell over a million albums. Besides So So Def, Dupri has worked with Jay-Z, Lil Bow-wow, Boys II Men, and many others.

So So Def Recordings ended up with 20 gold and platinum records. Dupri collaborated with Mariah Carey for the first time on the number one hit single “Always Be My Baby” in 1995.
