Initially, he played supporting roles in smaller independent films like Dahmer (2002) and Neo Ned (2005) before moving on to larger productions like S.W.A.T. (2003) and 28 Weeks Later (2007). In 2008, Renner’s performance in The Hurt Locker earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his work in The Town.
