Jeff Phelps is a Cleveland, Ohio sportscaster presently working as a television pregame/postgame host on Fox Sports Ohio for Cleveland Cavalier’s telecasts, a pregame/postgame host for Cleveland Browns radio broadcasts, and a midday co-host on WKRK-FM (92.3 The Fan) in Cleveland.

Phelps started his broadcasting career in Akron on co-owned WAKR AM 1590 and WAKR-TV 23 as a sports reporter. He then had a five-year stint as a sportscaster on KJAC in Beaumont, Texas.

In 1988, on the 10 O’Clock News in Cleveland, Phelps became a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor for WUAB channel 43, as well as WOIO channel 19 after becoming the sister station of WUAB, eventually becoming the weekend sports anchor for both stations. In 1994, the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA) acknowledged Phelps for his job and named Ohio Sportscaster of the Year in 1994.

After moving to Fox Sports Ohio in 2003, Phelps became the pregame and postgame host for Cleveland Cavalier’s telecasts. He is also a play-by-play announcer on the network for high school football telecasts as well as the host/producer of the classic car-focused Cruise-In show. Phelps ‘ responsibilities on Fox Sports Ohio have also included Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes pregame and postgame shows at multiple points.

WKRK-FM 92.3 was owned by CBS Radio in 2011 and switched to a sports talk format. Next, to former WEWS-TV 5 sports director Andy Baskin, Phelps became the co-host for the midday Baskin & Phelps program at the switch. Phelps continues to work with his radio responsibilities in Fox Sports Ohio.

In 2013, after WKRK-FM became one of Cleveland Browns ‘ flagship stations, Phelps became part of the Browns Radio Network’s gameday broadcast team, hosting the network pregame and postgame shows. Phelps was the radio play-by-play announcer for Browns pre-season matches in 2014, as well as the regular season games postgame host.
