Jay Wayne Jenkins (born September 28, 1977), commonly addressed as Young Jeezy, is a highly skilled rapper possessing many other talents. He is a prolific songwriter, a savvy record producer, and an accomplished entrepreneur.

Taking his passion for music to the next level, Jeezy founded his record label, C.T.E. World, where he serves as both the founder and C.E.O.

Jeezy‘s upbringing was shaped by the love and guidance of his parents, with his mother bearing the name Sharon Denise Jenkins, while his father was Denise Jenkins. 

Jeezy‘s childhood was also graced by the presence of his beloved sister, Katrina Wright. Deviating from the traditional education path, Jeezy made a bold decision at the tender age of 15 to abandon his pursuit of academic excellence and instead embark on a journey toward his true passion: music.

Career

In 2001, Jeezy‘s music career took flight with the release of his independent album, Thuggin’ Under the Influence (T.U.I.). Three years later, he inked a deal with Def Jam Recordings and unveiled his inaugural major-label offering, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101. This debut made a splash, debuting at the impressive second spot on the Billboard 200 chart and selling a remarkable 172,000 copies in just one week.

Following this triumph, Jeezy‘s subsequent albums, The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102 (2006) and The Recession (2008), mirrored the same success, claiming the top position on the Billboard 200 chart and birthing a series of chart-topping singles.

Jeezy‘s influence extended beyond his music, as he collaborated with various artists on hit singles like Christina Milian‘s Say I, Akon‘s I’m So Paid, Rihanna‘s Hard, and Usher‘s Love in This Club.

Beyond the music scene, Jeezy has made significant strides in the business world. He founded and led C.T.E. World, his record label, and ventured into fashion by launching his own clothing line, 8732.
