Daniel Johnson A 21-year-old man died Thursday when his motorcycle collided with an SUV in Oneida County, troopers said.
The motorcyclist, Jaylen J. Charron, of Herkimer, was pronounced dead at the scene, Trooper Jack Keller, a spokesperson for State police, said in a news release Friday.
The crash was reported around 5:17 p.m. at State Route 12 and Hinman Road in the town of Trenton.
Roberta J. Shields, 61, of Remsen, was driving a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek when she made a left turn onto Hinman Road from State Route 12, Keller said. As Shields pulled out onto the road, she didn’t see the motorcycle heading south, and the two collided, he said.
Keller said the impact of the crash caused the Subaru to spin and hit a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck stopped at the intersection.

The pickup’s driver, Joshua A. Buck, 35, of Remsen, and a 32-year-old passenger were not injured in the crash, he said.
Keller said the crash is still under investigation.
