Jack Black has been busy promoting his new movie, but he doesn’t plan on doing tiring press junkets much longer. The actor recently revealed that he is retiring from acting, and he will do “maybe one more movie” after Jumanji: The Next Level.

Black told Balance that he is enjoying the idea of early retirement, but he is 50-years-old, so “not so early.”

Black started acting in movies in the early 90s, with small roles in movies like Bob Roberts, Demolition Man, Waterworld, and The Cable Guy. But, he really made an impact in 2000 when he stole every scene in High Fidelity. And, that led to starring roles in School of Rock, King Kong, Tropic Thunder, and the Jumanji franchise.

“I’ve been saying for a long time that this is the last movie. We’ll see. I can’t really say what my next thing is because it’s too early; it’s a jinxer. I’ve got a couple of tricks up my sleeve. But not too many. I’m looking to wrap it up pretty soon. Ride off into the sunset,” said Black.

He added that a big part of his decision to step away from acting is being able to spend more time with his wife and two sons because he doesn’t like being away from them. Black says he spends too much time away from home, so maybe he will do a TV show in the future so he can stay in town, work nine to five, and then go home to his family.

Black says “we’ll see,” and explained that he’s not a big five-year plan kind of guy. He’s not one to look down the road, and instead takes things day-by-day. He says that if Quentin Tarantino “comes a-knocking” he will definitely do that movie. Black added that maybe he will “pull a Tarantino” and say he is going to do one more movie and go out on top.

Of course, Black has millions of fans all over the world because of his comedy rock band with Kyle Gass, Tenacious D. Black says he still has big plans for the band, and will absolutely play more shows in the future.

When pressed for more details, Black said he is going to star in a Quentin Tarantino movie, then ride off into the sunset directly to London to play a Tenacious D concert “the likes of which have never been seen.”

“And at that point, backstage, I plan on seeing you there and our high 5 will be filmed on IMAX. It will be the high five heard around the world!” Black told James Gill from Balance.
