Doja Cat is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. She was born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini on October 21, 1995.

She was born and raised in Los Angeles, and as a teenager, she began composing and distributing music on SoundCloud.

Her song “So High” drew the attention of Kemosabe and RCA Records, and she secured a joint record deal with them at the age of 17, releasing her debut EP titled “Purrr!” in 2014.

Doja Cat is not Hispanic. She is said to be of mixed race. She combines both the ethnicity of her father, a South African, and her mother, of Jewish origins.
