Idaho: What Happened To Ryan Olson? Death Cause Car Accident

Idaho falls native Ryan Olson died in a car accident on May 17th, 2021.

According to the Idaho State Police, Olson met an accident at approximately 9:57 am. It is reported that Ryan was rear-ended by Jamie Curtis of Rexburg while driving southbound on N 2nd Street East.

Olson’s vehicle got thrown into a canal because of the impact, and he died because of his severe physical injuries. As a result of Jamie’s and Ryan’s vehicle crash, three other vehicles were also involved in a chain reaction.

The drivers involved in the crash were Brian McRae of Rexburg, Jeanne Smith of Roberts, and Jarin Inskeep of Blackfoot.

Following the Incident, Jamie Curtis got taken by ground ambulance to Madison Memorial.

According to the 2021 obituaries, Ryan was in his 2015 Toyota Corolla when he got hit by a 2011 Honda Pilot of Jamie Curtis.

Ryan was married to the lovely Marcye Hunter, who is now his widow. Ryan left behind two beautiful children, Kenzley and son Rycker, and step-son Peyton, who were only eight, ten, and twelve years old at the time of his death.

Ryan was the first of four siblings born in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was a guy who liked to ride his motorcycle snow machine and go on hilarious hijinks with his three siblings.

The young man adored his family and had a long history of doing business with them.

The Idaho State Police are still investigating Olson’s death. The Rexburg Police Department and the Madison Fire Department also helped the Idaho police in the investigation process.

“I don’t know how any statements I write here will ever express how thankful and happy we are to have known Ryan Olson,” the fundraiser said.

She went on to say that Ryan was an amazing father, husband, sibling, son, coworker, and friend. There was no livelier light than the one that trailed after Ryan Olson. Whatever you were going through, a hug from Ryan would make it all better.

To date, over 700 donations have been made, and the fundraiser has raised approximately $63,586. The fundraiser’s goal was to raise about 70,000 dollars.
