Tragic Incident Claims the Life of Icelee Prestel in a Train Accident

In a devastating accident, Icelee Prestel, a student at Central Junior High School, lost her life after being struck by a train on Monday night. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. when authorities received a distressing report of a person being hit by a train at the railroad crossing located near Southeast Fourth Street, close to Santa Fe Street. Responding swiftly, several Moore police units arrived at the scene, tragically confirming that a young girl had been struck and fatally injured by a northbound Heartland Flyer train.

Subsequently, Moore police verified that the victim was a juvenile girl, and Moore Public Schools later identified her as Icelee Prestel, a student at Central Junior High School.

In an official statement released to KOCO 5, district officials from Moore Public Schools expressed their profound condolences: “The Moore Public Schools community is heartbroken by the unexpected loss of Icelee Prestel, a student at Central Junior High. The MPS mental health team will be present at Central Junior High throughout the week to provide support to both students and staff as they navigate through this tremendous loss.”
