Lil Tjay is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who rose to fame in 2018 with his song hit song Resume.

On Wednesday evening of June 22, 2022, Lil Tjay was shot multiple times during an attempted robbery that took place in the middle of the night at The Promenade at Edgewater, New Jersey.

Another victim of the robbery was his friend,  22-year-old Antoine Boyd. Boyd however, was shot only once in his back but is expected to survive.

Another friend of Lil Tjay, Jeffery Valdez, who was not injured, along with Boyd, was charged and arrested for second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

The police later arrested 27-year-old Mohamed Konate. He was charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder, three counts of first-degree armed robbery, and multiple weapons offenses.
