How did Myrcella Baratheon die and who poisoned her in ‘Game of Thrones’?

A fictitious character by the name of Myrcella Baratheon appears in the epic fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire by American author George R. R. Martin and its Game of Thrones television adaptation. Myrcella’s personalities, trajectory, connections, and impact in the two media are significantly dissimilar from one another.

Myrcella is revealed to be the sole child of Queen Cersei Lannister and King Robert Baratheon in the 1996 television series A Game of Thrones. She first appears when her parents, two brothers (Joffrey and Tommen Baratheon), and two “uncles” (Tyrion and Jaime Lannister) accompany her to Winterfell when Robert requests Eddard Stark to be chosen as the King’s Hand.

She can then be seen going to the game to celebrate Eddard’s new job. Eddard learns that Myrcella and her brothers are the offspring of Cersei and Jaime’s incestuous relationship when looking into Jon Arryn’s death.

In the first two seasons of the HBO television adaption, Irish actress Aimee Richardson played Myrcella; in the fifth and sixth seasons, English actress Nell Tiger Free played the role.
