Granger Howell, who had spent his whole life in Linden and had reached the age of 92 at the time of his death on Jan 17, 2023, passed away.

On June 30th, Betty was brought into the world by her parents, Joy Alvin Gordanier and Mildred Fern (Nason) Gordanier.

The 30th of the month is her birthday. She was a very active member of the congregation at the Nazarene church that she attended and she was extremely involved in the church’s activities. Before taking an earlier retirement than was originally planned, Betty was the head cook at Fowlerville High School for a long amount of time before she left her post there.

Many people’s lives have been turned upside down as a direct result of her passing away, including her children Karen (Dan) Abrams, Orin Jay (Jan) Kendall, Kathy (Ron Yuhaz) Kendall, and David (Carol) Kendall, as well as her ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Her parents and two of her siblings, Valyne Elliott and Bob Gordanier, had passed away before she did.

She was the last surviving member of her family. She was the only member of her family to have lived to an old age. She was the only member of her family to have reached an advanced age and she was the only one who did.
