After completing his high school education in 1970, Turner pursued higher studies at Ottumwa Heights. Later, he continued his education at the University of Iowa before enrolling at the Ernie Johnson Sales School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Turner’s Career as a Restauranteur

When Gerry Turner was just 20 years old, he started his career in the restaurant industry. He began by joining a Mr. Quick Restaurant franchise with some partners. Over time, he managed to buy out these partners, so he became the sole owner of the company and its five restaurant locations.

For more than 14 years, Turner was deeply involved in running the restaurants and worked closely as a partner in their operations. Then, in December 1985, he took on a new role as a Produce Salesman at Ken Moore Foods, where he worked for three years.

Later, he joined John Morrell & Co. as a Key Account Salesman, where he had significant responsibilities and helped boost sales.

In the following years, Turner took on different roles in various organizations. In 2004, he became the Director of Sales & Marketing at Rock River Provision and held that position for a remarkable 19 years.

Gerry Turner, Ex-Wife, and Daughters

Back in high school, Gerry met Toni Turner, who would later become his lifelong partner. Gerry used to hang out at the YMCA on Friday nights during school because he knew Toni would be there. She had beautiful dark hair and expressive eyes.

Their friendship turned into a romantic relationship, and eventually, they got married. They were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer ‘Jenny’ Young and Angela Warner. As they raised their children, they saved diligently for their dream: a peaceful home by a lake where they could enjoy their retirement.

Toni was a fantastic woman who not only worked but also dedicated her time to volunteering at a hospital. However, in 2017, Toni unexpectedly fell seriously ill, and Gerry rushed her to the hospital.
