We remember with heavy hearts the passing of Casie Riney, a dedicated resident of Newton, Iowa, and a valued employee of Capstone Behavioral Healthcare. Her departure on October 9, 2023, has left her family and colleagues grieving, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Casie Riney was a caring individual who, in her role at Capstone Behavioral Healthcare, made it her mission to improve the lives of others. She understood the importance of mental health and recognized the significance of taking care of oneself. Casie was a strong advocate for mental well-being and recognized that her staff deserved a day to focus on their own mental health. Two years ago, she took the initiative to ensure her employees had World Mental Health Day off, allowing them to dedicate time to themselves, either with or without their children. Whether it was spending a day at the spa, enjoying a good book, or simply catching up on sleep, Casie wanted her staff to have the opportunity to rejuvenate.
Her appreciation for the hard work and dedication of her colleagues was evident. Casie acknowledged the exceptional efforts put forth by her staff every day in caring for their patients. She considered them the best and believed that they deserved a day to prioritize their own mental health.
Regrettably, the very day that was meant for self-care and mental well-being turned into a day of mourning for Casie Riney. Her unexpected departure left a void in the hearts of her colleagues, who considered her not only a staff member but also a part of their family and a dear friend and mentor.
