"I believe in gentle exercise and lots of it," the Elizabeth Hurley Beach swimwear designer told Us Weekly. "So I believe in being active, going for walks, stretching, maybe a little yoga or a little Pilates. But I don't like high impact, high energy sports. I don't actually think they do you much good. "I walk every day, so I try and hit my 10,000 steps a day and I do some stretching every day. And then sometimes I do a bit more, but that's enough for me really," she told Us. "The faster, farther and more frequently you walk, the greater the benefits. For example, you may start out as an average walker, and then work your way up to walking faster and walking a mile in a shorter amount of time than an average walker, similar to power walkers. This can be a great way to get aerobic activity, improve your heart health and increase your endurance while burning calories," reports the Mayo Clinic.

"Small sun bathing break between meditations," Hurley once wrote from a spa. "Meditation, a type of mind-body medicine, has been practiced for thousands of years. During meditation, you develop intentional focus — minimizing random thoughts about the past or future," reports the Mayo Clinic. "Many forms of meditation exist, but most have in common a quiet setting, a comfortable position, focused attention and an open attitude."

Hurley avoids anything processed. "Instead, eat fish or steak, brown rice and plenty of vegetables," she told the Daily Mail. "Researchers have discovered yet another reason to cut out the Big Macs for good—turns out, diets full of processed foods can weaken your immune system and increase your risk of certain chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes," reports Eat This, Not That!

"Most of us don't drink enough water anyway, so however you can get your recommended daily allowance of water works. In general, that breaks down to about 15 cups per day for men, and about 11 cups per day for women. It's always good to stay hydrated. But everyone is different. Some people prefer room temperature water, other people can't drink room temperature water and prefer it ice cold," says the Cleveland Clinic. 

"Using local foods inspires me to prepare healthy, plant-based meals. I also feel good about supporting people in our community who make their living on the land. It's a win-win," Jennifer Nelson, RDN, LD, told the Mayo Clinic.

Try yoga at home. "You've seen the cool mats and ultra-luxurious yoga pants. And thanks to social media, it might seem like every yogi makes these items part of their practices. But rest assured, these things aren't essential for a home yoga practice. What's key is that you're comfortable and you have a mat and yoga props that meet your needs," says the Cleveland Clinic. "For example, if you don't have a yoga strap, you can use a belt, a jump rope, or a long scarf. Don't have blocks? You can use books or sturdy storage canisters. And for a restorative session, you can use comfy blankets, quilts and pillows. Just pick a quiet place in your home where you can practice and focus on yourself for as long as you need."
