Dr. Thomas Avallone, MD – Coronado, CA
Samuel Coleman Dr. Avallone completed his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, followed by a Transitional Year Internship Program and Ophthalmology Residency Program at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. He further specialized in glaucoma with a fellowship at the Stein Eye Institute, University of California Los Angeles.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Avallone is an Assistant Professor at F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He is also an active participant in research, with publications in esteemed journals such as the Journal of Glaucoma.
Dr. Avallone holds active medical licenses in California and Nebraska, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Glaucoma Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
His dedication to his profession is reflected in the numerous awards he has received, including the Best of the Best of Navy Medicine and induction into the Honorable Order of St. Lucia, Military Honor Society.
Committed to community service, Dr. Avallone has been involved in various volunteer activities, including serving as a Red Cross Volunteer and coaching local youth sports teams.
