Dr. George Kroumpouzos, MD – South Weymouth, MA
Samuel Coleman Dr. Kroumpouzos has held faculty appointments at Brown and Harvard Medical Schools. He has served as a Professor of Dermatology (Collaborator) at Jundiaí Medical School, São Paulo, Brazil. He is the Founder/Medical Director of GK Dermatology, PC in Weymouth, Massachusetts, where he practices. He is affiliated with South Shore Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, and Providence VA Medical Center. He has been practicing dermatology for 20+ years. He is experienced in dermatologic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, gynecologic/obstetric dermatology, psychodermatology, and pigmentation disorders.
He completed an MD/Ph.D. program at Athens University School of Medicine in Athens, Greece, and then research fellowships in skin biology at the Department of Dermatology, The Free University of Berlin, and the National Cancer Institute, NIH before starting a Dermatology Residency at the combined Boston/Tufts Universities Program. He is certified by both the American and European Boards of Dermatology. Dr. Kroumpouzos is an Associate Editor of Dermatologic Therapy, Frontiers in Medicine, and International Journal of Women's Dermatology, and Editor of Clinics in Dermatology. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and 40 chapters and edited seven texts, including the definitive Text Atlas of Obstetric Dermatology. His research interests include aesthetic/procedural dermatology, gynecologic dermatology, psychocutaneous disease, erosive pustular dermatosis, COVID-19 impact on the skin, and pigmentation disorders. He speaks multiple languages, including French, German, Greek, Spanish, and Portuguese.
