Galafassi played in a number of local music groups before joining the Sydney indie band, ‘Gelbison.’ They released their debut studio album, ‘1704,’ and also some singles, in 2003. Later, he left the group and along with his wife, Toni Collette, formed the band, ‘Toni Collette & the Finish,’ in 2006. Their debut album ‘Beautiful Awkward Pictures,’ was released in October, 2006. Galafassi is married to Australian actor-singer Toni Collette and the couple has two children, Sage Florence and Arlo Roberts. The family resides in Sydney and also owns a property in Ireland. In 2002, he played as a drummer in Sydney indie band, ‘Gelbison,’ an Australian pop-rock band formed in 2000 by Pete Farley. The band comprised of four members - Pete Farley on bass guitar, Dave Galafassi on drums and the Kahn brothers, Edo and Nadav on vocals, guitar and keyboard.They performed gigs at various places in and around Sydney. The band released their debut album ‘1704,’ on April 7, 2003, via ‘Virgin Records,’ and ‘EMI Music Group, Australia.’ The album was produced by Ian Ball and reached number 20 on ‘ARIA Hitseekers Albums Chart.’ The album received good reviews.Before the release of the album, the band released their debut single, ‘Metal detector’ in October, 2002, followed by the singles ‘Homelands’ (February, 2003) and ‘Good God’ (May, 2003). By the time the album was released, Galafassi had married Australian actor-singer Toni Collette, and she directed the music video for the single, ‘Good God.’Before the release of the second album of the band, Galafassi had left the group. Later the band ‘Gelbison’ disbanded in 2007.In January, 2006, Galafassi and his wife Toni Collette formed the group, ‘Toni Collette & The Finish.’ Besides acting, Toni enjoys song writing and singing. The band taped their first televised show in November, 2006, at the ‘Sydney Opera House’ for ‘Max Sessions.’ This was aired in January 2007, and received one of the highest ratings.In 2007, their band featured on the Australian part of the ‘Live Earth’ concert in Sydney. The two got engaged in 2002.On January 2003, Galafassi and Collette got married at the latter’s country house in South-coast Broughton, Berry. The wedding that was carried out by a Buddhist ceremony lasted over a weekend and had dancing monks, vegetarian banquets and fireworks.They have two children – daughter Sage Florence Galafassi, who was born in Sydney on January 9, 2008, and son Arlo Roberts Galafassi, who was born in Sydney on ‘Good Friday,’ April 22, 2011.
