During the same meeting, Giuliani hinted at a plan to acquire “voluntary access” to voting machines in Georgia, as attested by his and other testimonies before the House January 6 committee.

In the days following the meeting, Hampton shared an invitation in writing to access the county’s election office with a lawyer representing Trump.

According to documents, testimonies, and surveillance footage presented in an ongoing civil lawsuit concerning election security in Georgia, Hampton and another local elections official named Cathy Latham allegedly assisted Trump operatives in gaining access to the county’s voting systems.

Latham, who also purportedly acted as a fictitious elector from Georgia post the 2020 election, has faced scrutiny for her involvement in the breach at Coffee County, given that surveillance footage revealed her allowing unauthorized individuals to inspect voting systems for an extended period.

Accusations suggest that she enabled two unidentified individuals to enter restricted sections of the Coffee County Board of Elections and Registration office, thereby facilitating their unauthorized interaction with voting equipment.
