Christopher Frederick Ledesma was born on January 28, 1958, in Los Angeles. He began playing piano by ear at the age of three and began official trumpet instruction in the third grade.

After working as a music editor on a student film while at CalArts, he decided to pursue a career in the field. He was also a conductor major at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Ledesma was the music editor of “The Simpsons” since its inception in 1989, and he worked on over 30 seasons and 700 episodes before retiring in May 2022.
