He then started doing a full-time job and eventually became the president at the Coddington’s company, Hot Rods by Boyd.

Chip worked at Hot Rods by Boyd for a quite a long time. In 1998, Hot Rods by Boys was facing bankruptcy, so Chip left the position at the company. He and his wife shifted to Huntington Beach, California and started a new business. Chip started his own automotive and design company called Foose Designs.

Foose gained a lot of popularity when TLC Channel made a documentary on his design and creation of a modified 2002 Thunderbird called the Speedbird.
