Chinaza Uche was born into a close-knit family in Edinburgh, Scotland, on September 20, 1987. His parents, Chinma Uche, and Uche, raised him alongside his brother, Chibuikem, who has been his biggest supporter throughout his journey.

Chinma Uche, his mother, is a Math and Computer Science Teacher at CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering. Growing up, Chinaza was involved in school plays and did his first professional play at 10. His love for acting continued to grow, and he eventually moved to New York City in 2005 to pursue a degree in Drama at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

While at NYU, he studied Acting and performed at the Experimental Theatre Wing, where he also directed and wrote plays, and the Classical Studio, where he spent a year working only on Shakespearean and Classical texts and completed his BFA Drama course in 2019.

Chinaza’s hard work and dedication paid off when he started performing Off-Broadway at some of the most prestigious theater companies in New York City, including Manhattan Theater Club, New York Theatre Workshop, Playwrights Realm, Classic Stage Company, Labyrinth Theater Company, and The National Black Theatre.

Chinaza’s acting journey is one of hard work, dedication, and a passion for the craft. Starting his career as a theater artist, he performed in a variety of plays, including “Ajax in Iraq,” “Hearts Like Fists,” “Honey Fist,” “Jane the Plain,” “The Brothers Size,” “Sojourners,” “Sugar in Our Wounds,” “Richard III,” and “Henry V.”

While making a name for himself in the theater world, Chinaza also started to build his on-screen career with appearances in short films like “Puppy Whistle,” “Threading Needles,” “The Last Sacrifice,” “Blue Bloods,” “Working on It,” and “Klack and Roe.” His hard work paid off in 2016 when he won the Jury Award for his work in “Working on It.”

However, His breakthrough moment came in 2018 when he appeared as Pius in the film “Nigerian Prince,” which earned him significant acclaim and recognition. That same year, he also appeared in “Landing Up” and “Old Maid.”
