The identity of a victim who died as well as more details about the shooting that occurred at a Marion bar on Friday night have been made public by officials.

The 32-year-old Cameron Barnes was shot and killed at Cocktails & Company, which is situated at 1625 Blairs Ferry Road. According to Marion Police, they went to a report of gunshots at the bar at about 11:06 p.m. Ambulances and numerous law enforcement units sped to the site.

Barnes was shot inside the bar, according to officials, and subsequently passed away from his wounds at a nearby hospital.

On Saturday night, Cocktails and Company posted a statement about the event on its Facebook page: “Last night was unlike anything we could have anticipated. We want to increase the weight limit because it is so great.

The emergency reaction included the Cedar Rapids Police Department, Hiawatha Police Department, and Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
