Mia Fernandez Brooke Hogan is sharing some words of wisdom with her latest swimsuit shot. The 35-year-old daughter of legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan shared a locker room selfie where she's posing in a lime green bathing suit, with a caption detailing her struggles with finding balance in life. "One workout and its big swimsuit energy around here all of a sudden…😂 (actually just really good lighting in this bathroom). I have a loooong way to go. Building a business is HARD. Hogan has a tried-and-true diet when she wants to get into good physical shape. "I'm trying hard to get down even more," she says. "You need to keep to the old-school bodybuilder diet of eggs, fish, chicken, meat and broccoli. I want to always look healthy, not anorexic."
Hogan likes to go running as part of her workout regimen. "We all know running has many benefits — it decreases stress, it increases cardiac health, it decreases weight, it helps your mind and mood," says interventional spine specialist Santhosh Thomas, DO, MBA. "You should at least start with a nice, healthy walk, and then move onto jogging and then perhaps consider a little faster pace."
Hogan is kickstarting her fitness routine again, but says she is grateful past training and workouts have kept her in shape. "Luckily years of weight training helped me keep some sort of shape in these few years I've basically not worked out or eaten right," she says. "What bothers me the most is that I can feel it in my bones. I'm not even concerned with weight, I just want to be strong again."
Weight training is part of Hogan's workout routine, and is shown to be beneficial for bone health. "Weight training helps your bones because bone is a living tissue and can rebuild itself when stress is placed on it," according to Penn State. "Lifting weights places stress on your bones, which results in your bones increasing in density in order to support the stress being placed on them."
Hogan hasn't always had the best relationship with her body but has learned to appreciate it. "I love my body," she says. "Thick or not, I'm firm. I don't have cellulite. I'm happy with how I am. People should know, I'm only doing the diet for the entertainment business. It's not really what you're supposed to look like in real life."
