There are signs every now and then that give those supporting the #freebritney movement hope to keep pushing for the pop star to have her independence. Today, court documents were made public that showed Britney Spears is appreciative of what fans are doing.

After her father, Jamie Spears, dismissed the movement by claiming that the public ‘doesn’t have a clue’ about what’s really going on and called it a joke, her attorneys are saying otherwise.

Britney’s lawyer recently filed documents that request for the courts to make the case information available to the public. A huge deal — especially considering that she is pushing for Jamie to be out of her financial decisions.

‘Britney herself is vehemently opposed to this effort by her father to keep her legal struggle hidden away in the closet as a family secret. Far from being a conspiracy theory or a ‘joke’ as James [Jamie] reportedly told the media, in large part this scrutiny is a reasonable and even predictable result of James’ aggressive use of the sealing procedure over the years to minimize the amount of meaningful information made available to the public.’

The lawyers also attached an article that directly mentions the Free Britney movement and stated that she ‘welcomes and appreciates the informed support of her many fans.’

This may seem like a small step but the more eyes on Britney’s case — the more serious the courts will take it.

Some of the pop star’s biggest supporters rallied outside of her last hearing. Both her former makeup artist and ex-husband spoke in support of Britney and the movement.

The singer also took to Instagram to show off a fresh face and talk about scrutiny from the media — something that she did in her songs often.

Fans were quick to comment that they would like to see a live video of her and question if she was okay, but others came to talk about the great news that it looks like her case information will be made available to the public moving forward.
