The victims of a double-fatal police pursuit crash on Thursday night in Rowan County have been identified as Austin Ryan Davis and Aiden Daniel Humphries, both of Huntersville, North Carolina.

Humphries, 16, and Davis, 18, died after being pursued by police in Mount Ulla on Thursday night.

During a police chase around 11 p.m. on Thursday, the Chevrolet pickup truck the youths were riding in reportedly off the road and overturned near Back Creek Church Road.

At the scene, both teenagers were declared deceased.

Police were pursuing the vehicle, but it’s not apparent why.

The accident’s cause is still being looked into.
