Anyone But You Star Sydney Sweeney in Swimsuit Shares Thanks With Glen Powell
James Austin Sydney Sweeney is stirring up the rumor mill – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the star, who was rumored to be romancing her Anyone But You costar Glen Powell, gave her followers something to talk about, sharing a photo of the duo in their swimsuits holding hands. "Couldn't imagine doing this movie with anyone but you.. 🙂 @anyonebutyoumovie in theaters now!" she captioned the snap, driving her followers wild. "Everybody knows… and we're HERE for it," one commented. "I think I believe the rumors now," added another. How does the actress stay in such great shape? Celebwell rounded up her top lifestyle habits.
Sydney loves water skiing. "The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what's called a U-board to learn how to ski," she told Women's Health. "I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma's or my cousin's house, I'd wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That's my earliest memory of skiing, but I've been doing it as long as I can remember. It's my favorite." What makes it such a great workout? "It's a lot of upper body strength, it's balance, it's core, it's legs—you get tired really fast," she says. "I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun," she said.
Sweeney not only plays in the water, she drinks a lot of it. She confessed to the Hollywood Reporter that she's never even tried coffee and doesn't drink alcohol. "If I'm celebrating, or it's a very rare occasion, I'll have a Shirley Temple," she said.
Sydney can hold her own in a fight. She is an experienced MMA fighter. "I'm trained in mixed martial arts," she told Marie Claire. "I started when I was 14 and did my first competition at 18. It was a grappling competition against all guys a weight category above me, and I got first place. Those guys were probably saying, 'Oh, we didn't want to hurt her,' but they were definitely trying. Everyone broke a sweat!"
"I like to work out in the morning, so I'll either go for a run or I'll go to Solidcore," Sydney told Women's Health. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout "makes me feel so strong, but also elongated," she added. "I feel so good afterwards."
Sydney loves to chill out with a paint brush or a good book. "I love to paint, and I love to read," she said. "Those are the activities that are just for me." One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.
Sydney also stays in shape with the help of her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
