On January 18, 2022, American fashion journalist, stylist, creative director, and editor-at-large of Vogue magazine, André Leon Talley was reported dead at the age of 73.

He was said to have passed away at a hospital in White Plains, New York, from complications of a heart attack and COVID-19.

His death got many sorrowful and it elicited an outpouring of sympathy and tribute from many friends, admirers, and organizations who took to their social media handles to send their condolences to the family of the late Talley.

His funeral service was scheduled to be held on Friday, April 29, at the late fashion icon’s longtime house of worship, The Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem and it was successfully held.

The likes of  Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, Grace Coddington, Martha Stewart, Naomi Campbell, Karlie Kloss, and Marc Jacobs, just to mention a few were at the funeral service of the late Talley to pay their last respect to him.

Talley was a power player in Vogue magazine as he was the magazine’s fashion news director from 1983 to 1987, and the first African-American male creative director from 1988 to 1995.
