Biography:

Allison Janney was born on November 19, 1959 in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. She attended Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London to study drama.

Her film debut was in Who Shot Patakango? while her television debut was in Morton & Hayes. From 1999 to 2006, she played as C.J. Cregg in The West Wing where she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2002 and 2004.

She has since starred in prominent movies including Juno, Our Very Own, Hairspray, A Thousand Words, Life During Wartime, The Help and many others.
